River Valley Antique Association

Collectors and demonstrators of our American heritage

RVAA

The purpose of our organization is to collect and display our American Heritage. It is also our purpose to educated and inform the children of today and all other people of the ways and methods of agricultural production in the “olden days” of yesteryear. It is our purpose to acquire and exhibit any and all things of years gone by.

Note From The President:

Our show is now over, we had a great week-end for it also. We have heard a lot of GREAT comments about our 2007 show. We met a lot of new friends, and saw some old ones also.

We had approximately 148 tractors, and a surprise tractor ride, from the Old Iron Club of Fulton County. They rode in with about 20 tractors, it was a sight to see.

Not only was the tractors a sight, we had gas engines, a great horse pull, good food, threshing, corn shelling, shingle mill, saw mill, tractor ride, horse plowing, antique cars and trucks, black smith, tractor games and pull, kids pedal pull, an obstacle course, money in the hay stack, a potato dig and much more.

I think we all had a great time even though I might have missed something. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. I would like to thank all who made our show a success this year, and especially the East Peoria Kiwanis for the loan of the cookers and trailer for the use of RVAA.

Civic Center Update

Well, the Civic Center Show is over, and what a great time all the club members had working together.  Lots of  cooperation from everyone who helped, what one couldn't do, two more were there to help.  Seemed like it all went really smooth getting in and getting out.  There, was a comment made to us: “Hey, you guys really work together, and know what you are doing, weather it's unloading, loading and organizing.  Everyone is there for each other.”  I guess others noticed the friendship and cooperation of everyone. Good to see all of us working together.  We really couldn't have pulled this off without the spearheading of MATT GRAHAM.  He did a terrific job.  I sure hope he is sleeping better by now!!  I would like to give him a big "THANK YOU" from all of us.  Also, THANK YOU to everybody that gave their all, in helping doing this show from the start.
